When the house was built, the area under the stairs (except for a small closet) was closed in (why??).
I felt that it was time that I go where no man has gone since 1894. A couple of the steps are in rough shape and need shoring up. The only way to do this is from beneath; and so we put a big hole in the wall.

Dad and I took down one wall of the closet and rehabilitated about half of the steps.

1) I got to use my new sliding compund mitre saw for the first time today.
2) Plaster and lath will destroy a jigsaw blade in about 2 minutes. (Note to self, buy lots)
